Marcela Alzate-Gomez
Founder
Marcela is the founder of YKS Capital, managing all acquisitions, business development, and sales of multifamily properties. Marcela is an accomplished professional known for her diverse expertise and unwavering commitment to excellence. She is a multifamily real estate investor, leveraging her experience and knowledge in the field since 2020, and committed to expanding her portfolio with more multifamily projects.
Marcela’s background as a Business and Financial Analyst, as well as Team Leader, equipped her with valuable skills in financial analysis and team management, fostering collaboration and operational excellence. As a real estate entrepreneur and active real estate investor, Marcela has built a network of experienced investment partners and strategic advisors.
Beyond her career, Marcela is passionate about community empowerment, serving as a dedicated coach and mentor. Originally from Colombia, Marcela spent nearly a decade in New Jersey before relocating to San Antonio in 2018. Holding an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University, a testament to her commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
Cody Laughlin
Cody Laughlin is a co-founder and Managing Partner of Blue Oak Capital. Mr. Laughlin is the director of Acquisitions and Chief Investment Officer and oversees the company’s acquisitions and business development. Cody has eleven years of experience in alternative investments.
Prior to Blue Oak Capital, Mr. Laughlin was the founder and President of Laughlin Investment Group, LLC, a privately held real estate investment group where he managed the company’s acquisition portfolio of residential real estate.
In addition to his entrepreneurial ventures, Mr. Laughlin worked as a Registered Nurse in the Texas Medical Center. He is a graduate of McNeese State University with a bachelor’s degree in science of Nursing.
Ruben Dominguez
Strategic Advisor
Ruben Dominguez is a seasoned Real Estate investor and operational executive renowned for his adeptness in repositioning real estate assets, ensuring superior tenant experience, and consistently delivering high returns to investment partners. With a decade of experience in Real Estate investment, Ruben has built a substantial portfolio of single family and multifamily properties that have consistently yielded double digit returns.
As the founder of Totem Capital Group, he oversees all facets of property acquisition, repositioning, and sales, with over 50 successful renovation projects completed since 2012 and a current portfolio of over 800 units valued at over $120 million in Texas. Additionally, Ruben co-founded Apartment Educators, a multifamily consulting firm, and Accelerated Commercial Real Estate, a Texas-based commercial brokerage.
Ruben holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of the Incarnate Word and resides in North San Antonio with his wife and three children, indulging in travel, family time, and music during his downtime.
